Professor Camm is a professor of clinical cardiology at St Georges;s University of London.He specialises in a number of cardiac issues, which include cardiac arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, inherited channel pathyatrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, cardiomyopathy and pacemakers.
He also works with a focus on cardiac re-synchronisation therapy and ventricular repolarisation as well as other cardiac treatments.
Dr Narain works as a Cardiologist at St. Georges University Hospital, London. Dr Narain is the Founder and Director of Global Health Alliance UK, which consist of several Universities, NHS Hospitals & Royal Colleges of UK. Dr Narain is a member of the EAPCI, EAPCR, and a Council member for Stroke at the European Society of Cardiology. Dr Narain was recently appointed to the following advisory roles: Working group for Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases at the European Society of Cardiology, Founder Member of International Development Group of NHS, UK & Director, Heart Foundation, UK in recognition of his contribution to International Health arena. His research was quoted in the latest ESC guidelines for VF & Sudden Cardiac Death.
This is an effort to bring in the resources in creating awareness and making anti coagulation easier for doctors to prescribe. Many of these patients are not picked up on time or have been under dosed leading to CVS events.
In England, there is an estimated 1.36 million people with AF, which accounts for 2.4% of the population. Higher prevalence rates for AF are seen amongst the elderly, with 80.5% aged over 65, 16.6% between 45-60 years and 2.9% of people aged 45 and younger having the disease. There is also a higher prevalence within men 2.8% compared with women 2.0%.
